Coach Paul is a certified FIBA expert (since 1990) and
has conducted coaching clinics around the world for FIBA
and the Olympic Solidarity Program as well as for Sports
America, WABA, the NBA and the Asian Basketball
Confederation. Coach Paul has been consulted by
virtually every NBA team regarding international players
as well for evaluations on the development of US players
competing overseas. Success is nothing new for Paul
Coughter. He has been winning championships since 1983
when he won 8 national titles as the head coach of
Malhanga (mens team), Corinthians (ladies team) and
Transvaal Province (mens & ladies teams) while also
serving as the national coach of
South Africa. In the late 80's as coach of the San
Marino based Winston All-Stars his teams won more than
20 international tournaments against the top clubs
from Italy, Greece, Spain and Yugoslavia including a
dramatic finals victory versus Cibona Zagreb and their
superstar Drazen Petrovic at a tournament in
Barcelona. While coach of Hung Kuo in the NBA rules
league in Taiwan his team won back to back championships
in 96-97 and 97-98 winning a total of 92 games in 2
seasons. Coach Paul was named Coach of the Year and
All-Star Coach in both seasons. Most recently he coached
Valerenga in Oslo to a 25-1 record and the Norwegian 1st
Division title. In his mid fifties with 25 years
experience Coach Paul is a proven winner and entering
his prime as an international head basketball coach
